Prefield Orientation: For missionaries seeking to serve overseas from 2 weeks to 4 years and longer. These training programs emphasize the Spiritual, Personal, Language, Interpersonal, Cultural and Endurance/Enjoyment dimensions of ministry. We are indebted to our sister agency Missionary Training International, in Colorado, for their generosity in sharing the SPLICE and PILAT philosophy with MissionPREP.

Life Long Learning: MissionPREP is committed to providing training for missionaries and their families throughout their missionary careers. Seminars such as “ReTLC”
Re-Entry Transitioning and Life Long Care;  “MK- Care Givers” seek to bring encouragement, reflection and new skills to the whole missionary family.

Reaching Your World Community (“EthniCITY”): MissionPREP recognizes that God has brought the nations of the world to our doorstep in Toronto and N. America. Intercultural skills are not just for the missionary going overseas but also for every Christian who seeks to reach out in love and compassion to people from diverse cultures living beside us as our neighbours. MissionPREP will assist local church outreach teams in designing inter-cultural training seminars to equip your leadership and congregation for multi-ethnic ministries where God has placed you.

CrossTraining: An eight-month innovative program (Sept-April) integrating hands on experience, academic study, and personal mentorship.  Program includes urban training in Toronto or Calgary as well as a three-month overseas ministry assignment.  Prepares participants for urban cross-cultural ministry while obtaining up 30 hours academic credit from participating bible Colleges and Seminaries.

International Internships: Enables prospective missionaries from outside Canada the opportunity to learn and be involved in cross-cultural training for missions while acquiring English as a second language in a safe environment.  MissionPREP will: Provide the participant a safe and welcoming home to live in and a church to attend during their six-month stay in Toronto; Facilitate English learning skills through its partner, the Host International School of English; Provide opportunities to gain exposure and skills in cross-cultural ministry in an urban context.
